    Well what works in …
Well what works in reality is the training methology, judo uses and excellent curriculum to teach the art and even more so today’s judo is base on scientific research and sport science.Further modern judo applies modern training techniques and methods that increases exponentionally the physical ability of an athlete.i.e.You get really strong really fast & ounce you understand the theory of the art all other techniques are easily applied

  13. kibaloboferoz Says:

    yes is an excellent …
yes is an excellent self-defense,but like I was discussing today with a couple of friends…the most important thing in learning self-defense is the athletic developing of oneself,no matter how good of a technique if there’s no physique there wont be any effectiveness.Henceforth judo,TKD,sport karate are good programs to achieve this although I highly recomend looking at what physical shape are the majority of the students were you plan to practice

  14. kibaloboferoz Says:

    aiki-do is the …
aiki-do is the modern scientific example of aiki-jujutsu, to put it in simple terms.Ju-jutsu had many schools or styles, they all center around the circular theory to combat in which it is best to encircle your oponent instead of meeting the attack head on.But this explanation is just an over-simplification of a more complex system of fighting, the predominant characteristic is the wrestling type aspect of it…

bjj is judo!!!If they show a better ground, this is just due to practice(of course the one who spent more time practicing newaza gonna get more ways to do newaza.)There is a good exemple with Koga throws,he just brought so many unformal tachiwaza(stand up technics) to the tournament. Can u say that he’s doing another art? No,this is still tachiwaza(with koga flavor).I do think that the one who’s gonna mix judo, bjj, karatedo and aikido will get close to the real JUDO(”the gentle way”)…

  23. cnhatton Says:

    You are correct. …
You are correct. The technique that Kimura used is called Ude Garami in Judo and was called a double wristlock in freestyle wrestling (you don’t see it much in wrestling anymore, but it was commonplace before the 1940s). In contemporary submission grappling and MMA circles, the technique is called “kimura” in honour of the great judoka featured in this video.

    I am very grateful …
I am very grateful that there are many experts who watch this who can assist with my knowledge of Jiu Jitsu.

I believe, having watched the video, that Kimura beat Helio Gracie by holding his arm into his body and lifting the elbow unnatuarally, to create a stress that may dislocate the shoulder. I have heard this called a ‘Camora’(it’s how I’ve heard Americans pronounce it), is it named after Masihiko Kimura?

  25. JinXuanJun Says:

    then that means jiu …
then that means jiu jitsu, the stand up one was aikido?
