Dude! Sometimes … Dude! Sometimes they are being thrown sometimes they have to throw themselfs to avoid a dislocated or broken arms or wrists. It seriously hurts to resist. I agree it looks staged but its part of the training safety. In reality the attacker would resist but would end up hurting him/herself.
Sometimes they are … Sometimes they are really being thrown, other times they have to flop because otherwise they would end up with their wrists or arms broken.
you no there is a … you no there is a true story about an aikido master shioda gozo to cut the story short he once got into a fight with three guys(i think they were the yakuza) they cornered him and he cracked one fella’s wrist 1 fella’s leg and punched the last guy in the stomach all using aikido principles and techniques. true story google it. aikido is a great martial art if you use the right techniques. shioda gozo was a 10th degree
There is no way he … There is no way he can pull this off in MMA. Plus these guys are purposely flopping like this. There is no genuine resistance at all, it looks all staged.
I am a 10th dan in … I am a 10th dan in uechi ryu, chung do kwan tae kwon do,akido,jiu-jitsu….that would be Brazilian and japanese under 18th line in soke…Studied under tsu shi wa at the shoalin temple in hunan in the late 1800’s this is my ghost typing…Need i continue????Oh,alright….when i went to china i studied the 5 animal system of gung fu from a guy named sensei Ronald Mc Donald…You can get a black belt in less than a year!!!!!I I must be a BAAAAAAAD MAN!!!! Just kidding …
@milnusthegnome who … @milnusthegnome who said anything about a ring? if an mma fighter gets into it out there against several people (which is most likely) hes gonna take out a few, true, but the aikido guy is gonna take out each and every one of em unless one of em pops a gun
an mma fighter … an mma fighter would actually be worse off than a martial artist from a discipline like aikido. mma fighters are used to one on one bouts. aikido artists can go against several successfully, if they’ve been doing it long enough
lets see how an mma … lets see how an mma fighter does in a real street fight. will the fighter goto the ground and get his beat by the people around him?
mma and self … mma and self defense are two different things. in mma you have rules,a ref to save you a time limit and have the luxury of fighting just one unarmed person. i say this in comparison for i fight mma professional and have been a traditional martial artist for 25 years.
I won’t get into … I won’t get into the style vs. style, but anyone who’s in any martial art is respectable on its own. However, it’s the new age and wave of the MMA these days. Anyone who doesn’t ride on this concept is in denial!! You have to take on and learn a variety of styles in creating a complete martial artist within you. Bruce Lee style, you know what I mean??
No, but I do get … No, but I do get the basics of it. One of the things I take on from it is to be aware of everything, especially if there are more than opponents involved. However, a buddy of mine, a non-master with my same rank, sparred with an Aikido “master/sensei” and pulling his punches, he got him every single time. The master had nothing against his delivery.
Let’s see how … Let’s see how Steven Seagal and/or Aikido guy does in the MMA cage! I gotta see that. I used to think he/Aikido was decent until Gene LeBell choked Steven Seagal out!!
